Monday Next Steps – Fundamentals class

Pip Edwards:

The gateway class into the studio, Next Steps will provide you the foundations to begin your acting journey.

A career in Film and TV acting can be one of the most rewarding experiences but it requires great skill and training. All the great actors in the world have one thing in common…detailed acting training from reputable acting schools.

This is where SAC can help you. If you’re looking to take your current performing arts experience to the next step, with more detail on the specifics of Film and TV acting then SAC NEXT STEPS is the course for you. This course is NOT a beginners course, neither is it an experienced actors course. It is right in the middle, right where you are!

What you will learn:

You will learn acting techniques and material that will expose you to a deeper world of film and TV acting to help you book those awesome films and TV shows. Such as:

  • Fundamental acting techniques
  • Characterization
  • Audition techniques
  • Truth in acting
  • Script Analysis
  • Control of nerves and fears
  • How to own the space and your performance
  • How to have fun and be relaxed
  • and more.

The course is a 8 week course. The idea is to empower you with strong fundamentals, a strengthened base and a solid understanding of the craft before migrating you onwards to the more advanced SAC classes.

Every Monday night for eight weeks we will show you the ropes on your journey into the world of acting. Each week you will receive a new scene which you will workshop with your trainer in a professional on set experience. You will receive notes and feedback plus your work on USB for review. This is a crucial part of acting – being able to watch yourself on screen.

If this sounds daunting and challenging to you – then you’ve come to the right place! The only way to grow is to constantly push ourselves further and to take your NEXT STEPS into a career in the film and television industry.

Here are a few words from prior SAC actors who are killing it

Grace Stewart – Dancer for Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Justin Beiber, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Ellen Degeneres, Kylie Minogue, Pharrell, Dua Lipa and Macy Gray

As a professional dancer for the past 18 years. I have been fortunate enough to have worked with some of the biggest names in music, danced in film and performed on some of the biggest stages around the world. Dancing on live television or in front of 100,000 people was nothing compared to the fear of just taking a little acting class! SAC has changed my world. It’s my favorite part of my week. Juggling my professional dance career and acting is not always easy but it is so rewarding!! I have lived out so many dreams on my dance bucket list and I really am grateful but now I’m also on the path towards my acting dreams. Every week I grow and learn and I’m loving it. At SAC I feel safe and supported and I know I’m becoming the actor I want to be. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. 🙂

James Tobin – Sunrise Presenter, Beauty and the Geek Host

The guys at SAC are full of knowledge and will help any actor achieve their goals. I loved working with them!

Isabella Giovinazzo – Logie Nominee, Home and Away

Everyone at SAC truly care about each and every student. I have NEVER experienced that level of commitment from such talented teachers (and I’ve tried em all). They take the time (from a place of genuine pleasure and curiosity!) to know everyone. Exactly who YOU are. WHERE you are. WHAT you need. And that is what you need in an acting coach. Because when it comes to crunch time… they know my heart. Every time I work with SAC, the choice to trust in them is newly reaffirmed— somehow they just manage to find something that hits to my core. And I simply agree, wholeheartedly, with his fundamental beliefs about acting. The SAC approach. That all the answers are within. Be brave. It’s right there. And is so f**king fun. We all have a ball. Every single time

Bailey Spalding – X-Factor Finalist, Hi Five cast.

I’ve always had a huge passion for the performing arts, and found that I was specifically really interested in screen and TV acting. I decided to take action and attend an SAC masterclass with Chum Ehelepola; it helped me find something in myself that I didn’t think I had, and challenged me to be brave and find the truth in the craft. Since that class I am now a regular SAC student, and I am constantly finding ways to grow in theses classes. The teachers constantly encourage and push you to be the best you can. Each bringing their own experiences and practices to class. Thank you SAC!!

Rahel Abdul – Logie Nominated actor.

Working with Sydney Actors Collective is one of the very correct decisions I have made in my life. I realized with them, that I was truly capable of producing great art through acting. I learnt that by working extremely tirelessly and staying humble and respectful, that all dreams were achievable. If you want to understand the art of acting, yourself and your true potential, I certainly recommend working with SAC.
